Role of Men Episode 2

Episode 2 (mp3)

Appendix -2

Script-2

Hello Everyone,

You are listening to my second PODCAST on nasrinz.blogspot.com.
I am Nasrin, a student of The Presidency University, Dhaka in ever so green Bangladesh!
This is the second episode of the podcast on The Role of Men. Our today’s topic is Men’s role in empowering women.
Men and women have different roles to play in modern society. We have seen in my last podcast the development of the 'new father' role model. Men's involvement in fatherhood is the key to empowering women, women's empowerment is the key to improving the relationships.
First, Men are taking a direct role in the physical care of their young babies and children. In most schools in Bangladesh what used to be known as ‘Mother’s Day’ to discuss the academic development of a child is now had to be renamed as ‘Parents Day’ as more and more fathers are attending these meetings. Next, if you go around any amusement parks, Shopping centre, and Fast food shops like Pizza Hut, KFC, so on, it is not uncommon to see the father accompanying their child, sometimes the absence of the mother is no longer surprising and indeed no longer expected. This gives the women a chance to excel in her profession or her daily chores.
Next, the progressive man has now adjusted and is thrilled that
• his "housewife" now looks beyond the next door neighbors’ affairs and is interested in world affairs,
• has creative pursuits, attends classes ranging from pottery to dance,
• She looks good through exercise, and personal grooming,
• She is fashionable and has friends to make her happy and keep her lively.
• She's someone he can talk to, spend some time with, depend on and if she's got a job, eases the financial burden from his over-laden shoulders.
Today women proudly hold on to traditions but not the subordinate status in society anymore.
How do you think it is possible? I would say it is because of the change of mindset from the stereotype ideology.
What do you think listeners? Do send us your response in nasrinz.blogspot.com
Tune in next time for another episode. Until then take care and good bye.
